INDICATIONS

Used for surface disinfection in poultry houses, barns, sheep-folds, cages, boxes and other animal shelters, milking parlours, hatcheries, slaughterhouses, hospitals and clinics; for the disinfection of milking machines, milk churns, milk tanks, drinkers, water tanks and other equipment, instruments, materials and clothing; for the disinfection of hands, udders and skin; and for the disinfection of animals’ drinking water.

PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES

KLORMID is a disinfectant containing active chlorine. It dissolves easily in water. It exerts a germicidal effect by slowly releasing active chlorine and forming hypochlorous acid. The active chlorine atom renders the proteins and enzymes in germ cells non-functional. It is effective against all Gram negative and Gram positive bacteria as well as mould fungi and viruses. Compared with hypochlorites it is less irritating and its solutions in water are more stable. Its effect is highest in acidic and neutral environments and on surfaces that have been previously cleaned and washed. It is synergistic with quaternary ammonium salts and cationic detergents.
